Tyler Named To Ray Guy Award Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State punter Logan Tyler has been named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List, it was announced Wednesday.

Tyler has been FSU’s primary punter for the past three seasons and enters his senior season ranked fourth in program history with a career average of 42.4 yards per punt. In 2018, he led the ACC with a 43.2 yards-per-punt average, boosted by an ACC-best 23 punts of at least 50 yards. Against No. 13 Florida, Tyler registered a career-high six 50-yard punts, including a career-long-tying 61-yarder, and averaged a season-best 50.1 yards per punt. The Nixa, Missouri, native also handled kickoff duties, recording 37 touchbacks on 51 kickoffs, highlighted by a season-high six touchbacks in wins vs. Samford and Wake Forest, and was named the Seminoles’ Special Teams MVP.

The Ray Guy Award committee will announce 10 semifinalists on Nov. 19, and then three finalists will be released Nov. 25. Following another round of voting, the 2019 Ray Guy Award winner will be announced Dec. 12 live on the Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
