In FSU’s 56-35 win, Nasirildeen recorded nine tackles, including 1.0 for loss, and returned an interception 25 yards to set up an FSU touchdown in the first quarter. Nasirildeen was playing in just his second game of 2020 after suffering an injury in the 2019 regular season finale.
Nasirildeen was one of three Florida State defensive backs with an interception against the Blue Devils, FSU’s first three-interception game against an ACC opponent since 2014. Travis Jay and Brendan Gant had FSU’s two other interceptions, while Gant also forced a fumble that was recovered by linebacker Amari Gainer.
Nasirildeen is Florida State’s active career leader in tackles with 234 and interceptions with four.
Nasirildeen was named the league’s Defensive Back of the Week three times in 2019. He joins Asante Samuel, Jr., Marvin Wilson and Lawrance Toafili with player of the week honors in 2020.
Florida State will cap the regular season Saturday at 12:00 p.m. on ACC Network at Wake Forest.
