Noles in the Polls

No. 24 Florida State is one of eight women’s teams ranked in the CSCAA poll, which tied for the most of any conference. The Seminoles made their first appearance in the poll in February after receiving votes in every other poll this season.

The 21st-ranked men’s team is one of six ACC squads ranked heading into the meet. The Noles have been included in every poll since November of 2017.

The Venue

Home to Georgia Tech, the McAuley Aquatics Center is hosting the ACC Championships for the sixth time and first since 2017.

The pool is also the site of the 1996 Olympic Games.

The facility will also host the NCAA Championships next month, with the women’s meet running from March 16-19 and the men’s following from March 23-26.

Last Time Out

The Seminoles competed at the Auburn Invite on February 4-5.

The women’s 200 medley relay earned its NCAA automatic qualification at 1:36.37 behind Tania Quagliei, Nina Kucheran, Jenny Halden and Rebecca Moynihan.

Moynihan also led of the 200 free relay (22.54) to an NCAA B standard (1:29.57) and she was also fifth in the individual at 22.60.

For her efforts, she was named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

The ladies finished the year 6-1, 2-0 ACC, with wins over Miami and Georgia Tech in the conference.

The men’s team added another undefeated season, finishing 4-0, 1-0 ACC with key wins over Auburn and Georgia Tech.

Mason Herbet took home the ACC Male Swimmer of the Week after his performance against Tampa, where he was a part of three Morcom Aquatic Center Pool Records.
