TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Three Florida State basketball players – Jesse Jones, Darin Green Jr., and Tom House have earned semester academic honors, and the Seminole men's basketball team earned a 3.069 team grade point average – the highest ever fall term GPA in team history as fall semester grades were released by the FSU Department of Athletics.

Jones (Clermont, Fla.) was named to the President's List as he earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. It's the second time Jones has been named as an academic honoree as a student at Florida State. Jones, a double major in Finance and Real Estate, earned academic Dean's List honors during the spring of 2023.

Green Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.), who will earn his bachelor's degree in Social Science in May, was named to the Dean's List for the first time in his career. As a high school senior at the Wharton High School in Tampa, he earned the Academic Award for the basketball team as the player with the highest GPA on the team.

House (Dayton, Ohio) has been an academic standout since his arrival at Florida State as a freshman. He has now earned Florida State Academic Dean's List honors twice (spring 2023 and fall 2023), was named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Men's Basketball team and to the 2023 All-ACC Honor Roll.

House is majoring in Political Science and will be honored as the Outstanding Student of the Month in January 2024 by the Political Science Department at Florida State University.

"Your record of accomplishments stands out as they are as diverse as they are impactful," said faculty from the Political Science Department. "You've maintained an impressive record of excellence in the classroom and as a standout athlete on the Men's Basketball team. Florida State University is a great place to be because of people like you and the communities you create. The Department of Political Science is proud to have you as part of our rank and file. The faculty in the Department of Political Science are incredibly proud of you and can't wait to see what you'll do next."

For Florida State under head coach Leonard Hamilton, the academic achievements of his players is a long-standing tradition. During Hamilton's tenure as a head coach at Florida State, Miami, and Oklahoma State, dating back to 1988, more than 97 percent of his players have earned their degrees. Under Hamilton, the Seminoles were one of seven ACC teams credited with a perfect Academic Progress Report score in 2016 and are among the ACC leaders in that five-year period.

The APR, which was developed in 2003, holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.

In 2023, a program record 10 players were named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. In the last seven years, at least seven players have been named to the ACC Honor Roll with a total of 13 players being named to the All-ACC Academic Men's Basketball team during that period of time.
