TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Kaileigh Truslow and Jordan Boulware, a pair of freshman members of the nationally ranked Florida State University Beach Volleyball team, have been named as Junior Beach All-Americans by the AVCA.  Truslow (Liberty Hill, Tex.) earned All-American First-Team honor, while Boulware (Tallahasse, Fla.) earned All-American Second-Team honors.

Florida State, Arizona, Stanford and USC are the only four schools with multiple players named to the AVCA Junior Beach First, Second of Honorable Mention All-American Teams.

"Congrats to Jordan and Kaileigh for this amazing honor," said Head Coach Brooke Niles.  "We have an amazingly talented freshmen class that will immediately make us better. Both players exude excellence, character, and hard work which are all the things we preach to our beach volleyball team. I know fans will be excited to watch them wear the garnet and gold this season."

Both Truslow and Boulware began classes at Florida State on August 28.

Truslow won an AVP National Championship in 2019 (14U), finished second in the 15U Junior Olympics in  2019, won the 18U USAV National Championship 2021 and finished third in the 18U AAU National Championship 2021.  She earned championships at the BVCA Club National Championship 2022 and the 18U P1440 National Championship 2022.  Truslow graduated near the top of her high school class academically and was a member in the National Honor Society.  She plans to major in Exercise Physiology.

"I am so grateful for being named to the 2023 All-American team for beach volleyball," said Truslow.  "It is a true honor to be included among this amazing group of athletes. Of course, none of this would be possible without an incredible support group including my parents, Marc and Lori Truslow, and so many other coaches and players that have helped shape my game. I am so excited to continue my beach volleyball journey at Florida State University and see what is in store for our team this season."

Boulware won titles at the P1440 National Champion (2019), the 14U AAU National Championship (2019), the BVCA 14U National Championship (2019), the 14U AAU Junior Olympic National Championship (2019), the USA Volleyball High Performance National Championship (2019), the 16U P1440 National Championships and the 16U AVP National Championships in 2021.  She was among leaders in votes for the Fab 50 Girls Beach Volleyball team in 2022 by VolleyballMag.com.  An academic standout, she graduated high school with a 4.1 Grade Point Average and with Summa Cum Laude honors.  She was named to the National Honor Society in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

"I am extremely honored and couldn't have done it without everyone that helped me along the way," said Boulware.  "I am so happy to be able to receive such an amazing award for the sport that I love playing the most.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for me at FSU."

Florida State opens its five-tournament 2023 fall season at Gulf Shores, Ala., October 7-8.  The Seminoles will play at home on October 28.
