TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Men's Basketball Coach Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles hosted members of the Seminole student body at an open practice at the Donald L. Tucker on Saturday. The students were treated to the first public practice of Hamilton's 22nd team and invited to the game court for 3-point and free throw shooting contests as well as dribbling and shooting exhibitions by the Seminole players.
"We are so appreciative of our students who support us throughout the season," said Hamilton. "We partnered with the campus community to host students who remained on campus after classes were cancelled last week because of Hurricane Idalia. Our players were able to continue practicing despite the school being closed. This practice gave our team an opportunity to connect with their biggest fans."
The students were treated to a nearly two-hour practice as the Seminoles begin to ramp up their preparations for their season opener against Kennesaw State on November 10 at the Tucker Center. Following the practice, the students were invited to meet and interact with the student-athletes.
"We are so fortunate for the support our students give us at every game," said junior guard Jalen Warley. "We look to them for support, and they give us everything they've got at our games. They are so receptive to us on campus, so giving back to them on Saturday was easy. We all asked coach after the event to schedule more events like this. It was a lot of fun for every member of our team."
