TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Women's Basketball sophomore guard Ta'Niya Latson has been selected as both the World Exposure Report National Player of the Week as well as the ACC Player of the Week.
The Miami, Fla., native could not have gotten off to a better start in ACC play, recording a pair of 30-point games in wins over Georgia Tech (95-80) and Wake Forest (73-61). In the two wins last week, Latson averaged 30.0 points, shot 50 percent from the floor (22-of-44), went 50 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-8), averaged 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Latson recorded consecutive 30-point games for the second time in her career, and now owns 10 career 30-point performances. She was especially dominant in the second halves of both victories, scoring 16 points against Georgia Tech and 20 points vs. Wake Forest which included a 15-point fourth quarter.
Latson also averaged 11 made field goals in the two games combined for the 22nd-ranked Seminoles, which are off to a 2-0 start in ACC play for the second straight year.
Florida State has two strong road tests this week, facing third-ranked NC State this Thursday at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. FSU then travels to Clemson on Sunday, Jan. 7, for a 4 p.m. tip on the ACC Network.
