TALLAHASSEE – The No. 19/19 Florida State women's basketball team won its second exhibition game of the 2024-25 season by defeating West Florida on Wednesday, 93-70 at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Florida State scored 33 points in the fourth quarter as Maykala Timpson contributed 16 to lift the Seminoles to victory. Timpson contributed a double-double, leading all scorers with 28 points, 13 rebounds and four steals.
Ta'Niya Latson added 25 points and O'Mariah Gordon contributed 19. Malea Williams also grabbed 10 rebounds
After a slow start in the first quarter, the Seminoles took a 38-34 lead into the locker room.
In the third, the Seminoles increased the lead before taking over in the fourth quarter. FSU was 14-21, shooting 66 percent from the floor, pulling away to win 93-70.
Florida State opens the season on Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. against North Florida at home. Coverage will air on the ACC Network Extra. Regular season single game tickets are now on sale at the FSU Ticket office.
