TALLAHASSEE –  Florida State senior Makayla Timpson was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.

Timpson was selected for the first weekly honor of her career following her performance against Samford, where she scored 38 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, leading the Seminoles to victory, 101-68.

The Edison, Georgia, native scored the third-highest single-game total in program history, just two points shy of the program record that was set by Natasha Howard (40) on Feb. 13, 2014.  Her performance was also the third-highest total in the nation this season.

Timpson added career highs in points and field goals made (15), as both tied the third-best performance in program history.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Timpson leads the nation in total rebounds (60) and rebounds per game at 15.0.

The Seminoles face NC Central at 6 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. Coverage will air on the ACC Network Extra.
