Noles Begin Play at Paradise Jam on Thursday

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's basketball team (5-1) will open play at the Paradise Jam on Thursday, at the University of The Virgin Islands in St. Thomas.
The Seminoles, who lead the nation in scoring at 100.7 points per game, will play three games in three days, opening the tournament against Texas Tech (6-0) at 8 p.m. On Friday, FSU will play Missouri State (3-1) at 5:30 p.m., before closing the trip facing Gonzaga (4-2) at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Florida State has played all three teams a combined six times in program history for an overall record of 1-5.
The Seminoles last played in the Paradise Jam in 2016, registering a 3-0 record with wins over Winthrop, Michigan and Gonzaga.
All games will air on ESPN+, and the broadcast of the Seminole Sport Network can be found on 96.5 The Spear and Seminoles.com. Sirius XM will host the Texas Tech broadcast on channel 371.
The Last Time Out
Florida State defeated Florida for the third consecutive time, to move to 5-1 on the year. The Seminoles pulled away in the second quarter following a 20-0 run and never let the Gators back into the game. The 24-point margin of victory was the fourth highest for the Noles in the series history, and 98 points scored was the third-highest total.
Ta'Niya Latson, who leads the nation in points per game (26.8) led the Noles in scoring with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists.
O'Mariah Gordon added 19 points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals, while Makayla Timpson scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and added four blocks. Timpson added nine points at the free throw line, setting a career high.
Malea Williams led FSU in rebounds with 11.
