Avin Establishes First Career Win

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State outdoor track and field teams concluded the first day of competition of a two-meet weekend.
Ahmari Avin made a statement in his FSU debut at the Bob Hayes Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida, where he picked up his first career win with a career best discus throw (45.27m). Ryan Driscoll followed Avin in second place with a personal best of (42.52m).
Cooper Crowell secured second place in the hammer throw, establishing a career best mark of 50.82m.
Ismael Kone notched first in the prelims of the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 20.79.
"Nice win for Ismael at the Bob Hayes Invite," said FSU track and field head coach Bob Braman. "His time is really good for an opening meet, and it's likely a regional qualifying mark."
Catherine Fleming placed sixth in the women's Javelin throw, establishing a career best of 32.49m.
Tori Caroll finished in third place in the women's long jump at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida, measuring a leap of 5.98m. Skyler Reynolds followed Caroll in seventh place, earning a lifetime best of 5.88m.
Adina Jackson finished behind Reynolds in ninth place with a mark of 5.71m.
Kyvon Tatham rounded out the evening in the men's long jump, placing third with a career best of 7.48m.
The Noles will conclude competition on Saturday at the Hurricane Invitational, starting with the men's 400 at 2:05 p.m.
