3/17/2024 10:33:00 PM | Women's Basketball

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State Women's Basketball has earned a No. 9 seed in what will be its 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, facing eighth-seeded Alabama in the first round held at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

The Seminoles (23-10) will play their first and second round matchups at No. 1 seed Texas' host site. Dates, times and TV networks for the games have not yet been announced. Information will be provided on FSU Women's Basketball's social media accounts, including @fsuwbb on X.
The winner of FSU/Alabama will face the winner of Texas and No. 16 seed Drexel in the NCAA Second Round. FSU is playing in the Portland 4 regional.

Florida State is one of just eight programs to make the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in every season since 2013, joining Baylor, Louisville, Maryland, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and UConn on the active list.

FSU enters the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament coming off its second straight season of finishing 12-6 in the ACC, which tied the SEC with the most bids for a conference at eight. It was also a season where the Seminoles finished above .500 for the 10th straight year.

The Seminoles are making their 22nd NCAA appearance and will be a No. 9 seed for the second time in program history. All-ACC First Team members Ta'Niya Latson and Makayla Timpson helped anchor a high-scoring unit that once again led their conference in scoring during the regular season.
