Track & Field/Cross Country International Update

TALLAHASSEE -  Former members of the Florida State track and field/cross country teams are looking to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
 
Through March, Ahmed Muhumed, Kasey Knevelbaard, Adriaan Wildschutt, Lauren Ryan, Linden Hall, and Trey Cunningham have been in action at the highest level of the sport.
 
Muhumed (2020-22) and Knevelbaard (2019-21) represented Team USA at the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia on March 30.

Muhumed clocked a time of 29:53, finishing 36th helping the Americans take seventh place as a team with a total of 120 points.

Knevelbaard led off the mixed relay, splitting 6:25 for eighth place in the first lap of the relay. Team USA had two strong middle legs, however they finish eighth with a total time of 23:21.

Ryan (2019-22) was the winner in the 3,000-meter run, clocking 8:42.31 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.  
 
The Australian went on achieve the Olympic standard in the 10,000 at The Ten in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. on March 16, crossing the line at 30:35.66 for third place.  Her time was also a national record and ranks her 28th in the world.
 
Prior to The Ten, Ryan also delivered a national record in the 5,000 where she was second at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Dempsey Indoor on Feb. 23, clocking 14:57.67.
 
Wildschutt (2020-22) also competed at The Ten, turning in the eighth-fastest time in the world at 26:55.54, which was also a South African national record and under the Olympic standard.
 
Wildschutt added an indoor national record at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in the 5,000 at 12:56.76.
 
Hall (2011-15) competed in the World Athletics Indoor Championships for Australia where she ran a time of 4:09.83 in the 1,500.
 
Trey Cunningham (2018-22) represented the United States in the final of the 60m hurdles, finishing sixth at 7.53.  Cunningham won the second semifinal with a time of 7.49 after advancing out of the heats at 7.59.
 
Cunningham was the 2024 USA Indoor champion in the event, clocking 7.39.
