Six Noles Earn Academic All-District

TALLAHASSEE – Six members of the Florida State swimming and diving teams were named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District swimming and diving teams on Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and classroom.
Samantha Vear, Izzy Gregersen, Kayleigh Clark, and Jenny Halden were named to the women's team, while Tommaso Baravelli and Jesco Helling were chosen for the men.
Helling, Gregersen and Halden captured their second CSC Academic All-District honors.
"We're very proud of these six athletes," FSU head coach Neal Studd said. "We have some incredible student-athletes on our team and these six do such a great job of representing FSU at the highest level both athletically and academically."
Among the six Seminoles selected, Vear, Halden, Baravelli and Helling competed at the NCAA Championships. Vear earned her second All-America honor by placing 15th on 3-meter, while Baravelli helped the Seminoles set the program record in the 400 medley relay at 3:03.82 while finishing 12th.
Gregersen and Clark were ACC Championship finalists where Clark placed seventh on 1-meter and sixth on platform and Gregersen took fifth on platform.
To be eligible academically, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
Halden, Vear, Gregersen, Baravelli and Helling advance to the Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team selections for Academic All-America will be announced on April 23.
