Six Noles Capture CSC Academic All-District Honors

TALLAHASSEE – Six members of the Florida state track and field teams were named to the 2023-2024 CSC Academic All-District team on Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and the classroom.
On the women's side, Agnes McTighe, Tori Carroll, Ava Klein and Suus Altorf earned All-District honors, while David Mullarkey and Jayden Louis-Charles received the accolade for the men's team. To be considered for the CSC Academic All-District team, athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 and be ranked in the top 50 of their individual events nationally.
Mullarkey led the Noles after setting an indoor program record in the 3,000-meters with a time of 7:42.89, finishing the season with second-team All-American honors at the NCAA Championship. He finished fourth at the ACC Outdoor Championships in the 5,000 with a time of 13:41.76, before placing 18th at the NCAA Championships at 14:05.77.
He was named the ACC Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year, capturing bronze at the 2023 ACC Championships in the 8k before earning an All-American nod in the 10k at nationals after taking 40th place.
Louis-Charles competed at the ACC Outdoor Championship, placing sixth in the triple jump with a lifetime best of 15.32m (50-3¼). He completed his season at the East Region Preliminaries, placing 45th with a mark of 14.90m (48-10¾).
Altorf qualified for her first NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship after finishing 12th in the 1,500 at the NCAA East Prelims behind a lifetime best and sixth-fastest time in school history (4:10.13).
She placed second at the ACC Indoor Championship in the mile (4:39.33).
Carroll finished eighth at the ACC Outdoor Championships in the triple jump and was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team during the indoor and outdoor season.
McTighe turned in the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 3,000 meters during the Indoor season, before clocking the sixth-fastest time in the 5,000 (15:51.91) during outdoor.
Klein placed ninth at the ACC Outdoor Championship in the 400 hurdles (58.93) and was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Mullarkey and Altorf advance to the Academic All-America Ballot. First, second and third team selections for Academic All-America will be announced on July 9 for the women and July 10 for the men.
