Florida State Signs Two Transfer Athletes

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team has signed two transfer student-athletes, Tina Li and Maria Juliana Parra Romero, who will be joining the Seminoles in the fall.
Li was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and is entering her junior season. Li is transferring from Brigham Young University and has accumulated 26 wins in singles and 23 in doubles in her college career. Li earned All-WCC honors in doubles as a freshman and had a career-high ITF world ranking of 992.
Li is the daughter of Priscilla and James Li. Li has two sisters, is fluent in Chinese and loves to spend time with her family.
Parra Romero is a graduate of Colegio San Sebastian and was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Parra Romero will play her final collegiate season with the Seminoles, as she spent her first three seasons at Liberty. While at Liberty, Parra Romero accumulated 44 victories in singles and 36 in doubles over the span of her collegiate career.
Parra Romero earned first team All-CUSA honors in singles this past season, her third straight year as a first-team all-conference performer. Parra Romero also earned first-team all-conference honors in 2022 and 2023 when Liberty was a member of the ASUN. Additionally, she was the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2022.
Parra Romero is the daughter of Roque Parra and Line Romero. Parra Romero reached No. 1 in Colombia's junior tennis rankings and earned a No. 527 ITF ranking.
