TALLAHASSEE –  Three former members of the Florida State women's basketball team were among the 12 players named to represent Spain at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Lenor Rodriguez will play in her third Olympics, while Leticia Romero and Maria Conde will compete in their second. Spain earned its qualification to Paris by finishing as the runners-up in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2024 after placing second at the FIBA EuroBasket 2023.

"We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Leo, Leti and Maria on being named to the 2024 Spanish Olympic team," FSU head coach Brooke Wyckoff said. "All three of these women were important contributors to our success during their time at Florida State and have made us so proud over the years as they went on to compete at the highest levels professionally.  We are excited to watch and cheer them on, we wish them the best of luck in Paris!"

Rodriguez and Romero contributed to history, helping Spain win the silver medal in Rio in 2016, its only Olympic podium finish.  Spain's best finishes at the Olympics prior to 2016 came in 1992 (Barcelona) and 2008, placing fifth each time.

Spain followed its performance by taking sixth at the Tokyo Games, with Rodriguez and Conde contributing.

Conde (2015-17) averaged 7.3 points per game in three games played at EuroBasket 2023, scoring 22 in the 78-57 victory over Montenegro. She stepped up in Olympic qualification, averaging 9.3 points per game.  Conde led Spain with 16 points in the 73-72 victory over the host nation Hungary in Olympic qualifying.

Rodriguez (2009-13) also contributed 4.8 points per game at EuroBasket 2023, scoring a tournament-high nine points in over Montenegro.

Romero (2014-17) represents Valenica Basket Club in the Women's Euroleague, where she averaged 7.5 points per game in 2024.  While at Florida State, Romero led the Seminoles to the Elite Eight in 2017 after earning All-ACC first team honors.  She was a two-time Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American honorable mention.
