Four Additional Noles Set for Olympic Games

TALLAHASSEE – Four additional Seminoles are set to appear at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. 

  

Kevin Borlee- Belgium 

Borelee will compete for Belgium in his fifth Olympic Games in the mixed 4x400-meters relay. Borelee won bronze at the 2011 World Championships in the 400-meter. He qualified for the finals of the 400 at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Borelee was a semifinalist at both the 2008 Olympic games and 2009 World Championships. 

  

During his time at Florida State (2009-10), Borelee won the 400 at the ACC Outdoor Championship and was a part of the 4x400 relay team that captured gold. He is also a three time All-American after placing second at the Indoor NCAA Championship in the 4x400-meter relay and winning the title during the outdoor season. 

Andy Coscoran-Ireland 

Cosoran will represent Ireland in his second Olympic Games in the 1,500. Coscoran is a two-time World Championship semifinalist. During his 2023 stint, he broke the national record in the 1,500 that was set by Ray Flynn in 1982. 
 

At FSU (2015-16), he made an appearance at the ACC Cross Country Championship, placing 90th before competing at the NCAA Championship. 

  

Ieva Zarankaite- Lithuania 

Zarankaite was selected to compete for Lithuania in the women's discus after qualifying at the Oklahoma Throws World Invitational earlier this year. Zarankaite is a 14-time national champion and 2019 World University Games bronze medalist. 

  

During her time at Florida State (2018), she was a two-time first-team All-ACC member and a second-team All-American at the NCAA Championship. 

  

Caisa-Maria Lindfors- Sweden 

Lindfors was selected to compete in her first Olympics for Sweden in the women's discus. She represented her country at the 2021 and 2023 World Athletic Championships, taking home gold. 

  

During her time at FSU (2021-23), she competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championship finishing fourth, earning first-team All-American status. She took home the discus title at the 2023 ACC Outdoor Championship. 

  

Borlee, Coscoran, Zarankaite and Lindfors joins Jeremiah Davis (USA), Adriaan Wildschutt (South Africa), Kimberly Williams (Jamaica), Lauren Ryan (Australia), Linden Hall (Australia) and Alonzo Russell (Bahamas) in Paris. FSU has had a representative in every Games since 1972. 

The track and field events will run from August 1-11 at State De France.
