Wildschutt Lowers National Record at Olympics

PARIS – Florida State track and field alumnus Adriaan Wildschutt had a breakout performance on Friday clocking a personal best time of 26:50.64 in the men's 10,000-meters at the Olympics. 

  

WIldschutt lowered his own national record for South Africa, finishing 10th overall. He established the previous mark of 26.55.54 at The Ten in San Juan Capistrano, California earlier in 2024. 

  

Kevin Borlee was a part of the 4x400 relay for Belgium that placed fourth in the heats with a national record time of 3:10.74. Belgium advanced to Saturday's final at 2:55 p.m. (ET). 

  

Alozno Russell competed for the Bahamas, placing 13th with a time of 3:14.58. 

  

Lauren Ryan, who represented Australia in her first Olympic Games, placed 13th overall in the women's 5,000-meter with a time of 15:29.4. 

  

Kimberly Williams capped off her fourth Olympics for Jamaica in the women's triple jump, placing 20th with a mark of 13.77m. 

Andrew Coscoran competed for Ireland in the 1,500 placing 45th with a time of 3:42.07. Coscoran will compete in Saturday's repechage round for a chance to run in the Semifinal at 1:15 p.m. 

  

Ieva Zarankaite competed for Lithuania in the women's discus throw, placing 22nd with a mark of 60.73 meters. Caisa-Marie Lindfors followed in 27th with a mark of 59.29 meters for Sweden.
