Timpson Leads Noles with Double-Double at California

BERKELEY, Calif. – The RV/24 Florida State women's basketball team (13-4, 3-2 ACC) dropped its contest on Sunday to No. 24/25 California (16-2, 4-1 ACC) at the Haas Pavilion, 82-70.
In her 85th start as a Seminole, Makayla Timpson contributed her ninth double-double of the season and 40th of her career by leading with 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Timpson, who leads the ACC this season in double-doubles is one away from tying Natasha Howard's program record at 41.
Near her hometown in Freemont, California, Amaya Bonner tallied a season high in points, scoring 14. Ta'Niya Latson added 13 points and O'Mariah Gordon scored 12.
Cal started the game on an 8-0 run and kept the lead heading into the half, 50-25. The Seminoles outscored the Golden Bears in the second half, including 24-10 in the fourth quarter, holding the Bears to 33 percent shooting from the floor.
Florida State returns home to host Clemson on January 16 at 6 p.m. and Miami on January 19 at 2 p.m.
