Latson Wins AP Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE – For the second time this season, Florida State junior guard Ta'Niya Latson was named the Associated Press Player of the Week on Tuesday after capturing the ACC Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Latson led the Seminoles (15-4, 5-2 ACC) in victories over Clemson on Thursday and Miami on Sunday.
 
Latson contributed her fourth double-double of the season against the Tigers on Thursday, scoring 20 points and 10 assists.  Latson is one of three guards in the Power 4 to contribute three double-doubles this season by ways of points and assists.
 
On Sunday against the Hurricanes, Florida State made 18 three-point shots, setting a new program record for threes made in a single game, led by Latson, who contributed a career-high five. She finished the game with 30 points, marking her seventh performance this season scoring at least 30 points and 21st of her career.
 
The Miami native became the fourth Seminole in history to go 5-of-5 from three in a single game.
 
Latson leads the nation in scoring in total points with 478 and in points per game at 26.6, as the Seminoles boast the second-highest scoring offense in the nation at 92.0 points per game.
 
Florida State hits the road to face No. 13 North Carolina on Sunday, January 26, at 12:00 p.m. on ACC Network.
