Bowles Leads All Scorers with 21 Against Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– The Florida State women's basketball team fell to Alabama in the Ballin Boutin exhibition at the Boutwell Auditorium on Thursday, 91-71.
In the first action of the season with seven new players, the Seminoles had three score in double figures, led by Sydney Bowles, who contributed 21 points, leading all scorers.
Pania Davis added 14 points and was 4-of-7 from the floor. Davis also grabbed nine rebounds and registered one block.
Jasmine Shavers contributed 10 points and a pair of steals. On the defensive end, Allie Kubek swatted three of the team's six blocks. She also grabbed six boards.
The Seminoles started the game on an 8-0 stretch in the first. The offense generated a pair of threes early by and Tatum Greene. Alabama finished the first ahead 33-22 and went into the locker room up 42-25 at the break.
In the second half, Florida State settled in, scoring 46 points with Bowles contributing 13.
Florida State will host Tampa for an exhibition game on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
