Women’s Cross Country Place in Top Five at Pre-Nationals

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Florida State cross country team closed out the regular season Friday morning at Pre-Nationals in Columbia, Missouri. The women's team finished fifth overall with 255 points, marking the highest Pre-Nationals finish under head coach Cody Halsey.
The depth of the Seminole squad was on display with Rylee Blade leading the pack for the third consecutive meet after placing 14th with a time of 19:53.0. Bieke Schipperen finished in 17th with a career-best of 19:56.1. Brooke Hooper was the third runner with a lifetime-best of 20:35.0. Suus Altorf posted a personal-best of 20:35.2 for 53rd. Ava Povich rounded out Florida State's top five in 131st with a career-best 21:19.7.
On the men's side, Isaac Hirshman Chandler led the Seminoles, finishing in 24th with a time of 23:46.5. Kaden Levings placed 84th at 24:30.6, Lucas Bouquot followed Levings in 99th at 24:42.1, Aidan Ryan was the fourth FSU scorer in 104th at 24:47.5 and Gino Palazzolo concluded the scoring for Florida State in 167th with a time of 25:24.8.
The men's team placed 19th overall with 448 points.
Florida State will open postseason action at the ACC Championship in Louisville on October 31.
