Florida State Set for Crimson Tide Fall Challenge

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State men's tennis team travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Crimson Tide Fall Challenge beginning on Friday.
Azariah Rusher, Oren Ezerzer, Justin Lyons, and Gabriele Brancatelli will compete for the Seminoles in the three-day tournament that features a total of seven teams. Matches will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET with a hidden dual format with two doubles matches, followed by four single matches.
Results from completed matches will be updated throughout each day on the official ITA tournament page.
The Seminoles return to the court after competing at the ITA Southern Regional Tournament. FSU had a solid performance, finishing with two NCAA Championship qualifying positions from Erik Schiessl and Luis Felipe Miguel.
Miguel shared the regional singles co-champion title, while Schiessl joined Miguel as the regional doubles champion.
In the round of 32 of the main draw, the Seminoles went a perfect 5-0 to advance to the round of 16. Schiessl recorded the biggest upset of the tournament with a two-set victory over Florida's Jeremy Jin, defeating the No. 45 player in the nation.
In doubles play, Miguel and Schiessl came up big in the semifinals with a two-set win over the No. 69 pair in the nation, Miami's Antonio Prat and Jakub Kroslak, 6-3, 7-6 (6). The duo went on to capture the doubles title in the final match of the tournament, defeating FAU's Marek Pazdera and Mark Havlicek, 7-6 (2), 6-0.
