TALLAHASSEE – Florida State women's basketball alum Natasha Howard will have her jersey retired on Nov. 16 following the game against Indiana at 5 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

"Natasha Howard is one of the greatest to ever wear Garnet and Gold and I couldn't be more proud," FSU head coach Brooke Wyckoff said. "She gave everything she had to this program, and she's continued to make us proud every step of the way. Seeing her succeed as a WNBA champion and All-Star only reinforces what we always knew; she's one of the best to ever do it."

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Howard (2011-14) was a two-time All-ACC First Team selection in 2013 and 2014 and All-Defensive team honoree in 2012 and 2014.

Howard finished her career with 1,811 points, averaging 14.0 points per game in 129 games played. She set the school records for career rebounds at 1,047, and double-doubles at 41, which were recently broken by Makayla Timpson last season.  She also added 186 blocks, and 209 steals throughout her collegiate career.

As a freshman, Howard was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and was tabbed a Full Court Press Third Team Freshman All-American. She started all 32 games, averaging 10.6 points per game and 6.6 rebounds, while shooting 46 percent from the floor.

In her senior year, Howard earned two All-America honorable mention accolades by the AP and WBCA after scoring 675 points, averaging 20.5 per game.

Howard set the school record that is shared today for most points in a game, scoring 40 against Syracuse. She also added 15 double-doubles, another FSU record.

Following the 2013-14 season, Howard was drafted fifth overall in the 2014 WNBA draft by Indiana Fever and has enjoyed an 11-year, highly decorated professional career playing both aboard and in the WNBA.

Following the 2025 WNBA season, Howard averages 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for her career.  Her veteran presence led the Indiana Fever to a semifinal appearance in the playoffs as she started all 44 games played, averaging 11.4 points per game, shooting 55 percent from the floor. She also averaged 6.6 rebounds.

A three-time WNBA Champion, Howard was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and tabbed All-WNBA First Team.

Following the title in 2018 with the Seattle Storm, Howard was named the WNBA Most Improved Player. She is also a two-time All-Star (2019, 2022) and All-Defensive First Team (2018, 2019) selection.

Howard has also seen success overseas, leading her teams to the FIBA Europe SuperCup in 2023 and the Turkish Cup in 2024. A two-time EuroLeague Champion (2023,2024), Howard was also a Triple Crown winner in 2024.

Howard will be the fifth jersey to be retired in program history next to Sue Galkantas (1980-84), Tia Paschal (1988-93), Wanda Burns (1988-91), and Brooke Wyckoff (1997-01), with Burns and Paschal being the most recent in a joint jersey retirement ceremony on Jan. 28, 2007.

Single game tickets are now on sale on seminoles.com/tickets. The Seminoles will open the season to host Florida A&M on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.
