TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's basketball team  opened the 2025-26 season by defeating Florida A&M 112-39 Monday night at the Donald Tucker Civic Center.
 
The win marked the 27th consecutive home-opening win for FSU and fourth-highest point total in program history.
 
The Seminoles had six players score in double figures, led by Sole Williams who contributed 18 points and added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Williams also led the team in assists with four.
 
Tatum Greene made her FSU debut by collecting a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, also adding two blocks. Greene also tied her career high of six free throws made.
 
Pania Davis scored 14 points, shooting 8-of-8 from the free throw line, and grabbed eight rebounds.  Sydney Bowles and Jasmine Shavers added 13 points each, while Emma Risch sank four threes, tallying 12 points.
 
Florida State started out with a strong lead, closing the first quarter 20-9. In the second, the Seminoles held FAMU to only five points in the quarter, shooting 63 percent, extending the lead to 55-14 at the half following the 35-point quarter.
 
FSU added 19 points in the third, but finished with a huge 38-point quarter, closing the game 112-39. The Seminoles were 14-of-21 from the floor in the frame, shooting 66.7 percent.
 
It was the lowest point total for an opponent since defeating Pitt, 74-37 on Jan. 22, 2023.
 
The Seminoles (1-0) will host Georgia Southern on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
 
Notables
- Mari Gerton and Pania Davis played in their first official NCAA game. Gerton scored nine points, while Davis added
- Tatum Greene registered her first double-double of her career, behind 14 points and 10 rebounds. Her 10 rebounds were a career high
- Amaya Bonner tied her career high with three steals
- Allie Kubek tied her career high with four blocks
- It was the 11th 100-point game for head coach Brooke Wyckoff
- FSU made 10 three-pointers, the seventh-highest total in program history
- 112 points is the fourth-highest tally in program history
- The Seminoles blocked 11 shots which is the most since blocking 14 against Notre Dame in 2024. It was also the fourth-highest blocking tally in program history
