TALLAHASSEE – Jasen Lopez (Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School/SOH Elite) has signed a Grant in Aid to attend Florida State. The multi-sport athlete intends to play both football and basketball as a Seminole.

"We are thrilled to add JRoc to our FSU basketball family," said head coach Luke Loucks. "As a duel sport athlete, Jasen is one of the best athletes in America. His competitive fire, toughness, and leadership will be welcomed to our squad. He has incredible floor vision, shooting ability, and defensive instincts that will help our program move in the right direction.

"As we build our team, we will continue to look for pieces that embody our culture and style of play. JRoc certainly fits and we cannot wait until he is helping us (and football) compete for championships."

Lopez played his junior year at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School in Hollywood, Fla. His freshman and sophomore seasons were spent at True North Classical Academy, where he made a name for himself as a top athlete.

As a junior during the 2024-25 basketball season, Lopez averaged 25.0 points as he scored 574 points in 23 games. He shot 45 percent from the field, 34 percent from the 3-point line, and 81 percent from the free throw line.

In June 2025, Lopez was named as the Broward County 3A-1A Male Athlete of the Year for his outstanding performances on the basketball court and on the football field. The achievement is only given to one male and one female athlete, illustrating the athletic prowess of the two-sport star.

Lopez has been one of the most dependable scorers in the state over the past three seasons. As a freshman, he averaged 25 points per game, 30 as a sophomore, and 25 as a junior. He also got experience playing in a higher-level setting where he played in the Miami Pro League, scoring 24 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Lopez played in the 2025 Pangos All-American Camp, one of most prestigious camps in the nation.

Lopez was named the offensive MVP and to the All-Star First Team on the Under Armour AUU circuit as he averaged 16.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1. 9 steals during the summer of 2025.

Outside of basketball, Lopez is also a standout in football as a wide receiver. He plans to enjoy a dual sport career as a Seminole.

"I'm super grateful and blessed to be a part of a special culture at Florida State," said Lopez. "I can't wait to play for Coach Loucks and staff. I am excited to put on for Tally."
