Latson Named to Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State junior guard Ta'Niya Latson was one of 20 players named to the 2024-25 John R. Wooden Award Top 20 Late Midseason Watch List on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Athletic Club John R. Wooden Award Program™, founded in 1976, is presented annually to the outstanding collegiate basketball player of the year. As the most prestigious honors in college basketball, it recognizes The Wooden Award® Most Outstanding Player for men and women, The Wooden Award All America™ Teams for men and women and the annual selection of the Wooden Award® Legend of Coaching recipient. Wooden Award® All Americans have proven to their university that they meet or exceed the qualifications of the John R. Wooden Award® as set forth by Coach Wooden and the Wooden Award® Steering Committee, including making progress towards graduation and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Latson is ranked first nationally for points per game (26.0). Latson has also led the Noles to an 19-5, 9-3 ACC record this season, with the team ranking first nationally for points per game (92.1).Â
The Miami native has seven games this season scoring above 30 points, including a career-high 40 against Virginia Tech that matched Natasha Howard's program record.
The winners and the All Americans of the 2025 John R. Wooden Award All-American Team will be announced during the week of the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and honored at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Friday, April 11, 2025.
The No. 23/21 Seminoles (19-5, 9-3 ACC) will face Louisville (17-7, 10-3 ACC) at 6 p.m. Thursday on ACC Network Extra.
