Timpson Named to Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State forward Makayla Timpson was named to the 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist on Wednesday. Timpson was among 15 players named to the list.
Timpson ranks in the top three nationally in blocks (67) and blocks per game (3.05), while leading the ACC.
The Edison, Georgia native, is also among the top 10 nationally in rebounds (240) and in rebounds per game (10.9).
Timpson also leads the ACC this season with 13 double-doubles, ranking sixth in the country.
The No. 22 Noles (18-4, 8-2 ACC) will travel to face Virginia (12-11, 4-7 ACC) at John Paul Jones Arena at 7 p.m. Thursday.
