CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Florida State, which defeated SMU 76-69 on the final day of the regular season, travels to play Syracuse in the first round of the 2025 ACC Tournament on March 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. The Seminoles are the No. 11 seed and the Orange are the No. 14 seed in the tournament. The Seminoles defeated the Orange, 90-74, in the only regular season meeting between the two teams on January 4, 2025, at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee and have won two straight games against Syracuse in a series that began in 1990. Florida State's meeting with Syracuse is the second time the two teams have met in the ACC Tournament – the Orange took a victory over the Seminoles at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 9, 2022. The winner of the Florida State/Syracuse game faces No. 6 seed SMU on Wednesday, March 12 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Malique Ewin scored a career-high 26 points to lead Florida State to a 76-69 victory over SMU on Saturday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The win marked Seminole head coach Leonard Hamilton's 200th career ACC regular season victory. He is now one of only four coaches in the history of the league to win 200 or more regular season ACC games. Hamilton joins Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina's Dean Smith and North Carolina's Roy Williams as the only coaches in ACC history to win 200 or more regular season ACC games.
