Latson Named Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Finalist

TALLAHASSEE- Florida State junior guard Ta'Niya Latson was selected as a finalist for the 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award on Tuesday for the third time in her career. The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the five finalists in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

In addition to Latson, Flau'jae Johnson (LSU), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Juju Watkins (USC) and Mikayla Blakes (Vanderbilt) were recognized in the top five.

As the nation's leading scorer at 25.4 points per game, Latson leads the highest-scoring offense in the country at 88.2 points per game. No. 22 FSU will head to the 2025 Ally ACC Tournament and play on Friday as the No. 4 seed.

Latson became the fastest to score 2,000 points in Florida State basketball history after posting 23 points against No. 3 Notre Dame and now has 2,024 for her career. She became the third player in ACC history to hit 2,000 points in the first three seasons, and first since Alaina Beard of Duke (2000-04).

Latson scored a career-high, 40 points against Virginia Tech, tying the program record for most points scored in a game that was set by Natasha Howard (Syracuse, 2014). She also contributed the fourth triple double in program history in the win over Gonzaga at the Paradise Jam and has five double-doubles in her career.

The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, in its eighth year, honors the top shooting guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. It is named after the Class of 1993 Hall of Famer, the first player, regardless of gender, to be chosen for an All-America Team in four consecutive college seasons.

Each finalist will be presented to selection committees, composed of top men's and women's college basketball personnel, media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.
