TALLAHASSEE – Florida State men's track and field student-athlete Micahi Danzy was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Danzy is just the second Seminole in program history to collect the honor for the indoor and outdoor season.

In his outdoor debut, Danzy won gold in the men's 400-meter at the Terry Long FSU Relays on March 28, bringing home the first individual win of his career with a time of 46.03.  His time ranks second in the ACC and one of the only three freshmen that are ranked in the top 10 in the nation currently being ranked in 10th.

The Tallahassee native concluded his weekend in the 4x400-meter relay, helping the Noles to a second-place finish with a time of 3:10.40.

"Happy again for Micahi," said men's associate head coach Rick Argro. "I'm amazed daily by this young man. Not only his physical abilities, but the mental abilities to balance spring football as well as training for track. He shows what you can do when you dedicate yourself, make sacrifices and have an elite level of focus on two crafts that you love. It's a great start for him to the outdoor season."
