TALLAHASSEE – Florida State will face UMass on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in the 31st Annual AutoNation Orange Bowl Classic at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. It marks the third time the two teams will meet in the Orange Bowl Classic as the Seminoles took a 60-55 win over the Minutemen on December 21, 2013.
Florida will play George Washington as both games are played as part of a doubleheader of exciting college basketball.
The time of the game and the television designation will be announced at a later date.
The game between the Seminoles and the Minutemen marks the second consecutive season the two teams will meet. Florida State defeated UMass, 92-59, at the Naismith Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic on November 24, 2024, and have won four of the last five games in the series.
Florida State will play in the AutoNation Orange Bowl Classic for the 11th consecutive season as it faces UMass of the Mid-American Conference. Florida State has won three of its last five and 10 of its last 13 games played in the Orange Bowl Classic. "We will play a respected national opponent who is coached by Frank Martin, who is a college basketball legend. The game allows us to showcase our program to the south Florida area where we have a very strong fan base. Playing in the Orange Bowl Classic against UMass is a tremendous growth opportunity for our program."
The Minutemen joined the Mid-American Conference on July 1, 2025, and were previously members of the Atlantic 10 from 1976 through 2025.
