TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State men's and women's basketball teams will both face Alabama in exhibition games at the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Ala., on Thursday, Oct. 16.  The Seminole women face Alabama at 1:00 p.m. (ET) while the Seminole men face the Crimson Tide at 8:00 p.m. (ET).

The two games against the Crimson Tide come on the final day of a three-day exhibition series that will match the men's teams from Alabama A&M and Samford (Oct. 13), Auburn and Oklahoma State (Oct. 15), and the men's and women's teams from Florida State and Alabama (Oct. 16) in preseason exhibition games.

Each of the five games will be played at the historic Boutwell Auditorium – a 4,300 seat multipurpose arena in downtown Birmingham. The arena was built in 1924 as Birmingham's Municipal Auditorium, on a site near the Birmingham City Hall. In 2022, the auditorium hosted the sports of Muay Thai, sumo wrestling, and kickboxing as part of the 2022 World Games.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.ballininboutwell.com.

Both the Florida State women and the Alabama women advanced to the second round of the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.  FSU returns Amaya Bonner, Sydney Bowles, and Avery Treadwell from last season, and welcomes seven new players.

The Florida State men have an 8-8 all-time record in regular season games against Alabama. The Seminoles have won the most recent two games against the Crimson Tide with wins coming on December 6, 1986, in Tallahassee (72-71) and most recently at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., on November 27, 2009 (60-51). The series between the two teams began during the 1958-59 season with an 86-74 Florida State win in Tuscaloosa.
