Alkotop, Rusher Named ACC Co-Doubles Team of the Week

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State doubles pairing Mohammad Alkotop and Azariah Rusher were named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week. The two are currently ranked No. 82 nationally and are 5-0 on the season.
Alkotop and Rusher started their week against the College of Charleston on Thursday in the Seminoles' 7-0 sweep, beating Jakub Solarski and Eddie Vo 6-2 on court two. In singles play, Rusher extended the Seminoles lead to 3-0 after a two-set victory against Solarski, while Alkotop added a win of his own in a three-set match against Jake Smith.
The pair concluded their weekend in a doubleheader against Alabama State and The Citadel on Sunday. Alkotop and Rusher started the day on court two against the Hornets with a commanding 6-1 victory, before earning their second doubles victory of the day against the Citadel with a 6-2 win to clinch the doubles point for FSU.
The Seminoles will be back in action on Wednesday when they faceoff against No. 11 Arizona for a 4 p.m. match at the Robson Tennis Center.
