TALLAHASSEE – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association announced its academic awards for the 2025 cross country season on Thursday. Bieke Schipperen and Suus Altorf earned recognition for the women's side, while Isaac Hirshman Chandler received the honor for the first time for the men.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 96 in any championship, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event during the indoor season. Student-athletes can also qualify for the award for participating in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championship (Preliminaries or final championship competition).
Schipperen paced both teams, earning her second All-Conference honor at the ACC Championship after finishing 15th in a time of 19:40.9. She followed that performance with her second straight All-Region recognition at the NCAA South Region Championship, placing ninth with a personal-best 19:40.9. The Dussen, Netherlands, native closed out the season by competing at the NCAA Cross Country National Championship for the second consecutive year.
