TALLAHASSEE – Due to anticipated impacts from Tropical Storm Isaias in the Florida Panhandle this weekend, Florida State's men's basketball and baseball matchups in Pensacola have been canceled.
The men's basketball team was scheduled to play an exhibition game against Mississippi State on Saturday for the Southern Tip Off at the Pensacola Bay Center, while baseball was scheduled to face Auburn in a Fall Ball matchup at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to become a hurricane and make landfall Friday evening along the Gulf Coast, with projected impacts from Mississippi to the Florida Panhandle.
Event stakeholders are currently evaluating options for rescheduling the Southern Tip Off. If a new date is confirmed, additional information will be shared. Ticket purchasers for each game will receive an email update regarding options as soon as possible.
Men's basketball continues its exhibition season on Wednesday, October 14, against Auburn at Ballin in Boutwell in Birmingham, Alabama. Baseball's Fall Ball debut will now be at home Friday, October 16, at 5 p.m. against Jacksonville.
Florida State is continuing to monitor the situation. At this time, there are no additional impacts on FSU athletics events scheduled for this weekend.
