TALLAHASSEE – Florida State women's basketball head coach Brooke Wyckoff announced the signing of Jasmine Nivar on Monday.  Nivar joins the Seminoles from Campbell, where she was named the 2026 CAA Rookie of the Year.

"Jasmine is a dynamic guard who has proven she can impact the game in multiple ways at the Division I level," Wyckoff said. "During her time at Campbell, she made an immediate impact as a freshman. She has the ability to push tempo and get downhill, is a talented three-point shooter and she competes on the glass. Her versatility, size and physicality allow her to be disruptive and make winning plays on the defensive end. We're thrilled to welcome her to Florida State and look forward to her continued growth as a Seminole!"

In the 2025-26 season, Nivar was also selected for the CAA All-Rookie Team and All-CAA Third Team. She achieved eight CAA Rookie of the Week honors, marking her as third in CAA history for this achievement.

Nivar also appeared on the USBWA Tamika Catchings Award Preseason Watchlist for the 2025-26 season.

During her freshman year, Nivar started 31 of 32 games and was the leading scorer for the Camels with an average of 11.4 points per game, alongside 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals. She demonstrated scoring prowess with three 20-point performances and a career-high 24 points in a game against Elon.

Prior to Campbell, Nivar was a four-time all-conference selection for Apex Friendship. She led the Patriots to a second conference regular season and tournament championship as a senior, earning conference player of the year and Second Team High School OT, averaging 27.4 points, 3.3 assists, 9.4 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game.

As a sophomore, Nivar was named MaxPrep sophomore All-American honorable mention, all-district, and First Team all-conference after averaging 18.0 points, 2.9 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

Nivar played for the CP3 Flames on the AAU circuit, where she was coached by Arne Morris. She also played volleyball for the Patriots as a freshman and sophomore, while lettering in track & field as a junior and senior, where she was a two-time regional qualifier.

Nivar also represented Puerto Rico at the 2025 GLOBL JAM and the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship where she appeared in six games, averaging 7.2 points per game.

A native of Apex, North Carolina, her older sister Indya finished her collegiate career at North Carolina this season and was the 28th pick in the WNBA draft by the Atlanta Dream.  She will join the Seminoles for the 2026-27 season as a sophomore.

Nivar joins Savannah Henderson, Joy Egbuna, Chamiah Francis, Asia Lee, Kennedy Loux, Missy Odom, and Morgan Stewart in the signing class.
