TALLAHASSEE – Florida State women's basketball head coach Brooke Wyckoff announced the signing of Timaya Lewis-Eutsey on Tuesday. The 2026 Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year joins the Seminoles as a graduate transfer from Marshall.
"Timaya is a guard who brings a combination of speed, playmaking ability, and competitive toughness to our roster," Wyckoff said. "She's a player who can impact winning in multiple ways. As an aggressive attacker with the ball in her hands, Timaya creates opportunities for herself and her teammates that lead to points on the board. She has great instincts defensively, loves to get steals and put pressure on the offense with her length and quickness. We're excited about what Timaya brings to our backcourt and the growth we know is still ahead of her."
Lewis-Eutsey started all 37 games, leading the Thundering Herd to the 2026 WNIT title, where she averaged 20.0 points per game and shooting 50 percent from the floor for the season. She ranked third in the country in steals in 2025-26, amassing 141, averaging 3.8 per game. Lewis-Eutsey and Notre Dame's Hannah Hildago were the only two players in the nation to average at least 20.0 points per game and 3.8 steals per game last year.
In the five games Marshall played in the WNIT, Lewis-Eutsey scored at least 20 points in all five, averaging 24.4 per game. She amassed 21 steals and shot 59.4 percent from the field. For her efforts, she was named the Most Valuable Player for the tournament.
Lewis-Eutsey was also selected for the 2026 First Team All-Sun Belt Conference and the Sun Belt Conference All-Defensive Team. Throughout the 2026 season, she was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week and received the USBWA Anne Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week honor on Feb. 10, after she posted a career-high 36 points and eight steals against Central Michigan.
Lewis-Eutsey had six games scoring 30-plus points, 12 games with 20-plus points, and 26 games in double figures.
After scoring 741 points in 2025-26 for Marshall, Lewis-Eutsey boasts a career total of 1,437 points, averaging 14.2 points per game.
Prior to her season at Marshall, Lewis-Eutsey spent three at VCU where she averaged 10.9 points per game. In 2023-24, she posted 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Third Team.
Before her collegiate career, she played at Life Center Academy where she was named to the NJ Ladies Hoops All-State Second Team and reached 1,000 career points during the 2019-20 season, becoming the fastest player in school history to achieve this milestone.
Lewis-Eutsey joins Jasmine Nivar Savannah Henderson, Joy Egbuna, Chamiah Francis, Asia Lee, Kennedy Loux, Missy Odom, and Morgan Stewart in the signing class.
