TALLAHASSEE – Florida State women's basketball head coach Brooke Wyckoff announced the signing of Aga Makurat on Wednesday. A forward, Makurat signs with the Seminoles for her senior season after spending three at Vanderbilt.
"Aga is a highly skilled and experienced player who brings a unique combination of size, and versatility to our roster," Wyckoff said. "Her ability to play multiple positions and stretch the floor makes her a great fit for how we want to play. She also has a level of experience that will be valuable for our team, and she understands what it takes to compete at a high level night in and night out. Most importantly, Aga is committed to expanding her game and growing as a basketball player in her time at FSU and we are excited to help her in that endeavor!"
As a junior in 2025-26 Makurat appeared in 31 games from the bench, helping the Commodores to a Sweet 16 appearance behind a 29-5 record. She set a career-high of 21 points against Alabama State, where she sank five three-pointers.
During her second year with the Commodores, Makurat played in 14 games, all off the bench, averaging 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game. She scored season-high 10 points and matched her personal-best with three assists against Appalachian State.
In her first year, she appeared in all 33 games, making three starts, and scored double-digit points in three games. She made 29 3-pointers as a freshman, shooting 32.2 percent from behind the arc, and led the Commodores in scoring twice.
Internationally, Makurat led Poland in scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg) at the 2024 FIBA U20 Women's Eurobasket, with notable performances of 24 points against Latvia and 20 points against Finland. She also averaged 13.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game at the 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship and scored 21 points in the Round of 16 against Belgium at the 2019 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship.
Makurat will be the first player from Poland in the FSU program history. Her family has a strong basketball background, with her sisters Anna and Ola having played at UConn and Utah, respectively.
Makurat joins Timaya Lewis-Eutsey, Jasmine Nivar, Savannah Henderson, Joy Egbuna, Chamiah Francis, Asia Lee, Kennedy Loux, Missy Odom, and Morgan Stewart in the signing class.
