TALLAHASSEE – Florida State women's basketball head coach Brooke Wyckoff announced the signing of Ice Brady on Tuesday. A forward, Brady transfers to FSU from UConn.
Due to a season-ending injury as a redshirt junior, Brady will sit out the 2026-27 season and join the team for 2027-28. She is set to graduate from UConn in May with a degree in communications.
"Ice is a proven winner who brings championship experience, versatility, and a high basketball IQ to our program," Wyckoff said. "At 6'3, she impacts the game on both ends with her length, rebounding, and ability to make plays, and we're excited about how she fits into our system. Having competed at the highest level and been part of a national championship team, she understands what it takes to win, and we believe her best basketball is still ahead of her."
Brady, who won the National Championship with UConn in 2024-25, appeared in 73 games over three seasons for the Huskies, starting 15. Brady also helped UConn to a Final Four appearance in 2024.
Brady averaged 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds en route to becoming a national champion. She made a key contribution in the Final Four win over UCLA, scoring five points.
As a redshirt freshman Brady was named to the 2024 Big East All-Tournament team after starting and playing all 40 minutes in the final two games of the tournament. She scored 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals against Georgetown in the title game.
Brady set a career high with 17 points against St. John's and 14 rebounds against Xavier.
Prior to UConn, Brady was the No. 5-ranked recruit by ESPN. She was a 2022 McDonald's, Jordan Brand and SLAM All-American where she averaged 20.7 points, 12.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks as a senior at Cathedral Central Catholic High School.
A native of San Diego, Brady was named to the MaxPreps California All-State Third Team in 2022, after being named the 2021 San Diego Sports Association Player of the Year.
Brady was a part of the 2022 USA U18 National Team, and she won the gold medal at the U18 FIBA Women's Americas, after Team USA defeated Canada.
Brady joins Aga Makurat, Timaya Lewis-Eutsey, Jasmine Nivar, Savannah Henderson, Joy Egbuna, Chamiah Francis, Asia Lee, Kennedy Loux, Missy Odom, and Morgan Stewart in the signing class.
In the fall of 2025, the Seminoles locked up the 13th-ranked freshman signing class by ESPNW after Francis, Lee, Loux, Odom and Stewart signed in November. Brady, Lewis-Eutsey and Nivar are among the USA Today top 100 transfers in 2026.
