TALLAHASSEE – A school-record seven Florida State football players were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday.

First-team Academic All-American Duce Robinson joined fellow first-time honorees linebacker AJ Cottrill, quarterback Michael Grant, defensive back Donny Hiebert and offensive lineman Luke Petitbon, while offensive lineman Jacob Rizy was recognized for the second consecutive season.

Additionally, transfer quarterback Ashton Daniels was recognized for his academic success as a graduate of Stanford and last season at Auburn.

Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Be a senior player graduating this spring/summer who completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2025; or
  • Be a graduated player or grad transfer who has already earned a bachelor's degree and competed in the 2025 season (even if the player has remaining eligibility and may return to play next season).
And must have:
  • Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and
  • Been a starter or contributor throughout the 2025 season
Robinson, who was a first-team Academic All-American and first-team All-ACC wide receiver, caught 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns as a junior at FSU in 2025. The Phoenix native ranked ninth nationally in the regular season in receiving yards, and his five games with at least 120 receiving yards ranked second in the country.

Petitbon, from Annapolis, Maryland, joined Robinson on the All-ACC first team and was an honorable mention All-American after starting all 12 games at center in 2025. Petitbon and Rizy, from Westport, Connecticut, were linchpins of an offense that led the ACC in total and rushing offense and was one of five programs nationally to average 200 rushing and passing yards per game in 2025.

Cottrill, from Tampa, racked up a career-high 15 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks with action in all 12 games. Hiebert, from Gainesville, added three tackles in six games before a season-ending injury, and Grant, from Tallahassee, made his Florida State debut with a completion in FSU's win over East Texas A&M.

Florida State has placed at least five players on the Hampshire Honor Society list for three consecutive seasons and has had multiple players earn the honor in five straight years.

Daniels graduated from Stanford in 2025 with a degree in science, technology and society before playing at Auburn in 2025. The redshirt senior has thrown for 4,783 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding 1,397 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in his career.
