Wray Wins Gold, Seminoles Conclude Day Two of ACC Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– The Florida State track and field teams ended day two of the ACC Championship with one individual champion and nine qualifiers for Saturday's final.
Freshman Despiro Wray started off day two in the men's shotput, capturing gold with a new personal best and the sixth-furthest throw in program history at 18.58 meters. Wray became the first shotput champion since 2018 and was just the second freshman in program history to win the event. Shamar Reid followed up with a fifth-place finish at 18.12 meters.
Curtis Williams grabbed six points for the men's team after placing third in the long jump with a mark of 7.77 meters. Kyvon Tatham finished in ninth at 7.39 meters, followed by Justin Woulard in 13th at 7.17 meters.
Florida State grabbed two of the top three spots in the men's 110 hurdles. Defending Champion Andre Korbmacher ran the second-fastest qualifying time with a time of 13.40 to remain fifth all-time in FSU history. Zach Extine advanced to his first ACC outdoor final with a third place finish at 13.51.
Nafy Thiam took home bronze in her first ever ACC Outdoor Championship in the women's shotput with a mark of 17.07 meters.
Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng turned in the third-fastest time in the men's 400 with a time of 45.96, while Micahi Danzy solidified his spot alongside Ofosu-Kwarteng as the seventh seed with a time of 46.49.
Kaden Levings competed in the men's 3,000 steeplechase placing fifth after being seeded eighth. Levings remained fourth all-time in FSU history with a new personal best of 8:47.77.
Kaelyaah Liburd captured the seventh-fasest qualifying time in the women's 400, clocking a time of 53.74.
Neo Mosebi ran the fastest qualifying time in the men's 100 with a time of 9.96, followed by Durian Moss in third at 10.06.
Shenese Walker advanced to the women's 100 final with the fastest qualifying time of 11.02, while Lucy May Sleeman placed fourth heading into Saturday's final at 11.14. Micayah Holland took the last qualifying spot with a new personal best of 11.30.
The men's team sits in fifth place with 24 points, while the women stand in eighth with 20 points.
The final day of ACC action will start the men's discus at 2:00 p.m. All sessions will air on the ACC Network Extra and live timing will be available on flash results.
