Williams Qualifies for Second Consecutive National Championship, Five Noles Advance to Quarterfinals

LEXINGTON, Kentucky– The Florida State track and field teams opened the 2026 NCAA East Regional Preliminary Championships with Curtis Williams earning a bid to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the men's long jump on Wednesday.
The Tallahassee native placed 10th on his second attempt with a mark of 7.70 meters, qualifying for his second straight national championship.
In addition to Williams qualifying for nationals, five more Noles advanced to the quarterfinal rounds that will take place on Friday.
Andre Korbmacher, Zach Extine and Tyson Williams moved on in the 110-meter hurdles. Korbmacher led the first round for Florida State in 11th with a time of 13.48, while Extine claimed the 12th qualifying spot at 13.53. Williams advanced in 21st-place with a time of 13.77.
Neo Mosebi highlighted the men's short sprints after placing in the top 10 of the 100, advancing to the quarterfinals by crossing the line in 10th at 10.11. Durian Moss took the 20th advancing spot with a finishing time of 10.21.
