TALLAHASSEE – Florida State Men's Basketball will return to Birmingham, Ala., for the second consecutive season as the Seminoles take on Auburn in the 2026 Ballin in Boutwell preseason event Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. ET inside historic Boutwell Auditorium.
Â
FSU is making its second straight appearance in the event after facing Alabama during the 2025 Ballin in Boutwell showcase. The annual event, presented by Nike and Hibbett, returns for a third year after sellout crowds in each of its first two editions.
Â
"We're excited to be part of Ballin in Boutwell again this year," said head coach Luke Loucks. "It's a tremendous event with a great atmosphere, and it's exactly the kind of preseason challenge we're looking for. We want to compete against the best teams possible because those games prepare us for what's ahead. Opportunities like this help us evaluate where we are, expose areas we need to improve, and get our team ready for the start of the season."
Â
The Seminoles and Tigers will headline a week-long celebration of basketball in Birmingham that features five men's and women's exhibition games and four in-state programs. The unique setting inside Boutwell Auditorium provides fans with an intimate atmosphere and unobstructed views of the action from every seat.
Â
Ballin in Boutwell was reintroduced in 2024, marking the first men's basketball game played inside Boutwell Auditorium in more than 45 years. The event celebrates Birmingham's rich basketball tradition while creating an immersive fan experience throughout the historic venue.
As presenting sponsors, Nike and Hibbett will transform Boutwell Auditorium with interactive branding and fan activations throughout the week, creating an experiential showcase centered around basketball and the Birmingham community.
