Jones Helps Warriors Capture 2026 NBA Summer League Title

TALLAHASSEE – Former Florida State standout Lajae Jones played a key role in helping the Golden State Warriors capture the 2026 NBA Summer League Championship.

Jones, the 54th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, appeared in all six games for the Warriors, averaging 8.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 48.8 percent from the field. His production helped Golden State finish the event with a 5-1 record, culminating in a 94-90 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in the championship game Sunday night.

Jones made an immediate impact in the Warriors' Summer League opener, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds while shooting 4-of-5 from the field in a 101-90 win over the Dallas Mavericks. He followed with another strong effort in a 104-79 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, totaling 10 points and six rebounds.

Despite Golden State's lone setback of the tournament, a 106-85 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Jones remained productive by scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

He earned his first start of Summer League against the New York Knicks and responded and responded with 13 points and four rebounds to lead the Warriors to an 87-77 victory that secured a spot in the semifinal round.

Jones continued to provide valuable minutes during Golden State's championship push, recording four points and five rebounds in a 92-88 semifinal win over the Los Angeles Lakers before adding four points in the Warriors' 94-90 championship victory over Memphis.

Jones enters his first professional season with momentum after an outstanding senior campaign at Florida State, playing in all 33 games while making 31 starts and averaging 12.7 points per game. He also led FSU in total rebounds (189) and blocked shots (33). Jones became the 52nd Seminole in program history to get drafted.
