Singleton Named ACC Receiver of the Week

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State senior running back Samuel Singleton Jr. is the ACC Receiver of the Week after accounting for 164 all-purpose yards Saturday against New Mexico State.
Singleton, from Charleston, South Carolina, caught four passes for 54 yards and one touchdown, added 42 rushing yards and one touchdown and returned two kickoffs for 68 yards. Singleton led Florida State in receptions and receiving yards, and his receiving touchdown was the first of his career.
Singleton caught a 35-yard pass in the first quarter, the longest reception of his career. He caught a third-down touchdown from four yards out just before halftime to extend FSU's lead and scored a two-yard touchdown in the third quarter on his final carry of the game.
In the return game, Singleton averaged 34.0 yards on two kickoff returns and leads the country in that category after Week 0. He had a 46-yard return in the third quarter, FSU's longest return since 2024, when Singleton had a 95-yard touchdown return at Duke. He earned ACC Specialist of the Week honors for his performance against the Blue Devils.
Singleton is Florida State's first non-wide receiver to earn ACC Receiver of the Week since the award was instituted in 2012. The award is open to any position that catches a pass.
