Blade Named Runner of the Week

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State cross country student-athlete Rylee Blade was named the ACC Women's Runner of the Week on Tuesday following her performance at the FSU Pre-Regional meet.
"Rylee did a great job in the opener," said FSU head coach Matt Kane. "Coach had a plan for a nice pack run, and she followed that to perfection. I'm looking forward to this week as she gets in some tougher competition."
Blade started off the season strong as the sophomore took charge of Apalachee Regional Park after leading the women's 6k to capture her second career win with a time of 20:39.2, setting up the Seminoles for a team victory with a nearly perfect score of 17 points.
"Sweeping the men's and women's individual team title was an incredible way to start our season," said women's head Cody Halsey. "I'm proud of Rylee for stepping up, getting the win and leading our women at home on our course. She's in a great place fitness-wise and I'm excited about what's ahead for her and this team. They have big goals this year and I'm looking forward to seeing us continue to build momentum as we get into the tougher part of our schedule."
