PA Announcer Interest Form

Florida State Athletics' marketing department is looking to add to our selection of PA announcers for home sporting events. Applicants will have the potential to serve as the PA announcer for a variety of sports: baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming and diving, beach volleyball, and men’s and women’s tennis as well as serving as a back-up for men's and women's basketball. 

The role includes introducing starting lineups, calling pertinent in-game action and making other in-venue announcements. Please complete the form below and upload your tryout video by July 31. 


Qualifications and Responsibilities: 
  • Applicants must have strong vocal ability, enunciation, enthusiasm and comfort addressing large crowds
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, environment
  • Applicants must have familiarity with applicable sports, rules, and general operations
  • Ability to commute to Florida State venues
  • Applicants must be 18+ years of age and eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as applicable
  • A strong working knowledge of Florida State Athletics’ varsity sports is preferred but not required
  • Prior and/or related experience is preferred but not required (i.e. in-arena host, radio broadcaster, sports broadcaster, etc.)

  4. Standby for any follow-up instructions
    • The Florida State Athletics Staff will contact you no later than 1 week following the video submission deadline
    • Serious applicants may be asked to attend an in-person tryout if selected by the Marketing Staff and will be notified accordingly upon review
Submission of this form indicates interest in becoming a Florida State Athletics PA Announcer and is not a guarantee of employment. Submissions will be reviewed and given further instructions at the discretion of the Florida State Athletics Marketing Staff. This is a paid position; rates will be determined based on experience and time commitment of assigned sport(s) if chosen for a Public Address position. These positions are reviewed and renewed on an annual basis. If selected, individuals will still be required to undergo the standard university hiring process and meet all university requirements, which may include a background check.
