Ben O’Donnell has been named the strength and conditioning coach for the Florida State men’s basketball team for the 2025-26 season.

Before joining FSU, O’Donnell served as the strength and conditioning coach at Indian Rocks Christian School and also worked in private strength and conditioning training. From 2016 to 2021, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Kansas State men’s basketball team, helping develop high-level athletes.

O’Donnell began his career at UCF, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in communications in 2011. He first served as an intern with UCF’s strength and conditioning staff in 2010-11, then spent six years with the program, working as a graduate assistant from 2011 to 2013 before becoming a full-time staff member in 2013.

He holds a master’s degree in physical education and exercise science from the University of South Florida and is certified by USA Weightlifting, CSCS, and CSCCA.

As a player, O’Donnell walked on at Florida State during the 2007-08 season before transferring to UCF, where he played during the 2009-10 season.
